A few days ago Anonymous – an hacker international organization who claims to defend citizien’s rights – declared “total war” against the Islamic State, posting on Social Media a 2-minutes video. How does war change in 2015?

DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, believe the answer can be found in MEMEX, software that allows for better cataloguing of Deep Web sites.
Anonymous, as mentioned, joined the war. Most likely, the organization will help the Cia and other governmental agencies identifying who talks about IS on the Deep web and track terrorists’ movements. On Twitter, Anonymous is already reporting IS profiles through a profile called @CtrlSec.

It is interesting and challenging to study how the new war has not only mobilised governments, but also hackers – who are stereotypically seen as “enemies”.
